Welcome to N.C.S.A. High Power Shooting Club Thank you for your interest in our High Power Shooting Club. Our range provides shooting distances that are a rarity, especially in Sothern California. The range is located on the Pala Indian Reservation, Pala, California in north county San Diego. We are a member’s only shooting club. Guests are allowed (see membership page). The High Power Club's main focus is precision long range shooting with precision scoped rifles with match grade ammunitation. Although we do allow iron sighted rifles, they are only allowed to shoot at certain targets. The targets we primarily shoot are steel swingers or fixed plates, some are small for .22 rimfire and larger for some iron sighted rifles. sizes range from small 3" silhouettes to 24"x24" plates. For .22 rimfire, yardages run from 25-100 yards. For centerfire rifles they run from 100-888 yards. Shooting at longer ranges will challenge your skills. We have a covered main firing line with a concrete pad. We do have several shooting benches. You will need to be self sufficient, bring your gear, food, water, shooting mat or your favorite bench etc. We have portable toilets that are regulary maintained. We have permanent paper target boards at 100 yards and a few smaller portable stands that can be set at 221, 316, 415 and 541 yards. You may also bring your own paper target stands. Please bring your own paper targets as we have none to sell you. We share the range with many other shooting disciplines which is why our club typically shoots only on the 4th. Sunday of every month. (As changes are made periodically, please check the events page for any cancellations or date changes befor paying a visit). Every time our club meets we have either a Tactical, Long Range match or a practice day where the range is open from the main firing line. We also have one .22 rimfire and a Semi-Auto centerfire match each year. The matches are held in the morning from 9:00am. until around noon, after the match ends the range will be open for practice until 4:00pm. Practice days are normal hours. Range hours are from 8:00am.-4:00pm. If after a match there are no shooters that want to practice, then the range may close early. We have a good group of members of all ages and an excellent group of Range Safety Officers to make sure you have a safe visit and to assist you if the need arises. Currently we have a caliber limitation (see Ammo & Caliber page for details) We hope you find the time to join us for a day of shooting. Thank you for stopping by! The High Power Staff |
