NCSA HIGH POWER RANGE RULES

Members, guests, and visitors are responsible for reading, understanding, and obeying the rules posted below, as well as following the orders of range safety officers. If you are thinking of joining our club, or if it has been a while since you lasted visited us, please take a moment to review these rules. They are critical to providing a safe and enjoyable shooting environment for all.

  1. NCSA/HP is a precision shooting organization based on match grade rifles and match quality ammunition for precision long range target shooting. Only those rifles and ammunition may be fired at our targets beyond 100 yards. At the discretion of the Range Safety Officer other rifles and ammunition may be fired at the 100 yard targets.
  2. This is a "members only" club, you may be our guest two times, and then you must join the club.
  3. All who join the NCSA/HP club requires membership in the NRA.
  4. The only time you can wear a sidearm is when instructed to do so and while shooting in the pistol bay.
  5. Upon request of a range safety officer, you may be required to show your membership card and/or photo identification.
  6. There shall be no loaded firearms on the Pala Range Property except for during active fire on the firing line.
  7. All firearms shall be carried with actions open, magazine removed and pointed in a safe direction. Do not let the muzzle sweep any part of anybody.
  8. Ear protection is mandatory for all persons at the range. Eye protection is mandatory for all shooters.
  9. During active fire make certain that the muzzle is at or beyond the firing line.
  10. During a "Cease-Fire" all firearms must be unloaded, actions open, magazine removed with a chamber safety flag/open bolt indicator installed and firearms shall not be handled without specific approval of the range safety officer on duty.
  11. When the rifle is being cleaned on or behind the firing line it shall be unloaded, the bolt and magazine removed. Pointed in a safe direction.
  12. Anytime a firearm is left unattended it shall be unloaded, magazine removed with the bolt open and an open bolt indicator installed.
  13. Mishandling of firearms shall be reported to the range safety officer. Repeat offenders shall be barred from using the range facilities.
  14. Shoot at designated targets only.
  15. Limited use of surplus military ammunition (see Ammo & Caliber page).
  16. No armor piercing, steel core, steel jacket, tracers, incendiary bullets (see Ammo & Caliber page).
  17. If you see a vehicle or people on the road above the 888 yard target, call for a cease-fire immediately.
  18. Dispose of trash, brass and patches, etc. before leaving the range. Pack it in, prepare to pack it out. This will save money on disposal fees.
  19. No alcohol or illegal drugs on premises.
  20. Range Safety Officers have the final word on questionable shooting situations.
  21. Violation of these rules is course for revocation of membership in NCSA/HP.
